💡Mind-body-soul reset

If there is one belief that I hold unshakably at my core, it’s this: our bodies, minds, and souls are inseparable. This is a crucial understanding when it comes to wellness.

Most of us approach health one-dimensionally.

We tend to dramatically overemphasize things like:

  • Meticulously tracking our food intake

  • Monitoring workouts with scientific precision

  • Trying to perfectly balance calories in vs. calories out

  • Designing the “perfect” workout routine

In other words, we focus 100% of our effort on our physical bodies, and little to none on our mental & psychological fitness. The truth is, you cannot heal your body without healing your mind. While strict diets and exercise can bring short-term physical changes, true and lasting transformation requires a complete mind-body-soul reset.

Over the next few editions, we’ll dive deep into each part of this powerful trilogy, with practical tools to help you start your own 3-dimensional reset.

Let’s get started:

🧘 Part 1: Reset your Mind

Our minds are the command center for everything we do—how we feel, how we think, and ultimately how we live. Most of us are running on largely unexamined, subconscious programming. In other words, our minds are running on autopilot. Today, we’re going to talk about how to reset your mind.

1. Declutter

The first step to resetting your mind is to make space. Without it, clarity and peace have no space to emerge. Meditation is the best way to start decluttering your headspace.

Start small. Set aside 10 minutes every morning for stillness. Start with a guided meditation app.

Whether you’re new to meditation or have been practicing for years, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Joe Dispenza’s Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself right now.

This book will give you a deep-dive into the nature of the mind and the power of our thoughts to quite literally shape our reality. There are a number of meditations meant to pair with his book that are also available for free on Youtube.

2. Rewire

Our thoughts create our reality. Negative self-talk will keep you stuck, while a positive mindset will quite literally set you free. Resetting your mind requires a conscious effort to rewrite our inner narratives and adapt a mindset of abundance, gratitude and joy.

Listening to (and repeating) affirmations in the morning is a great way to start retraining your mind. There are tons of free affirmation tracks on Spotify and Youtube – find one that resonates with you, and make a habit of playing it out loud while you’re getting ready for your day.

3. Rest

To reset your mind, you need to create intentional boundaries around when and how you engage with external stimuli. Most of us have no boundaries when it comes to our phones. We scroll first thing in the morning, and last thing before going to sleep. We may even scroll while we’re in the bathroom.

Try implementing digital detoxes during specific times of day, particularly during the first and last hour of your day. This downtime is going to be critical for allowing your mind to rest and recharge.

You may be surprised at how much lighter and more creative you feel just by giving your mind some space.

Speaking of the mind-body connection…

When it comes to wellness, there is a delicate balance between leveraging data and tuning into our inner wisdom. The truth, as always, sits in the middle and there is room for both. We dive deeper into this topic on the most recent episode of The Well Path Podcast.
