This week’s episode is about that.

We unpack what’s really underneath “good energy,” and the magic of being fully here.

🎙️The secret to “good energy” is PRESENCE.

We cover:

  • The hidden cost of mentally time traveling (and how it drains your magnetism)

  • Why presence must be earned

  • Subtle ways your energy leaks through distraction, anticipation, or overthinking

This episode is for you if:

  • You struggle to stay grounded in conversations

  • You overanalyze your past or find yourself thinking about your to-do list while in conversation

  • You want to feel more confident, magnetic, and intuitive

  • You’re craving deeper connections

How to stop mentally time traveling

Most of us live everywhere but the present moment. We’re rehearsing a conversation that hasn’t happened, replaying one that’s long gone, or over-analyzing how we appear to the person we’re talking to.

But when you're fully there, people feel it—and when you’re not, they feel that too.

Here are a few practices to help you anchor to the present moment:

  1. Eliminate distractions. This is an obvious one, but PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY. Studies have shown that the presence of a phone on a table, even if it’s face down, decreased cognitive performance, makes us more distracted, and leads to less enjoyable interactions. Make it a habit to unplug while you’re with people.

  2. Practice meditation regularly. When you're in a conversation and your mind drifts—maybe to a past memory or something you need to do later—it’s a lot like what happens during meditation. In meditation, the goal is usually to focus your attention on one thing, like your breath or a specific part of your body. The real practice begins when you notice that your mind has wandered—because it will wander. Meditation isn’t about preventing that. It’s about getting quicker at noticing when it happens, and gently bringing your attention back. That same mental “muscle” you build in meditation is the one you use to stay present with another person.

  3. Get curious. Start getting genuinely curious about other people. The moment you remember that—just like you—every person is living their own life movie, it becomes easier. They each carry a whole world within them: memories, hopes, fears, dreams, experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Every single person you meet is the main character of their own story. So start wondering what’s beneath the surface. Ask real questions. Listen with intention.

That’s all for now. Thank you so much for being here, and as always, I’d love to hear how this lands for you.

Love, Brooke
